Due: round 2 of your entire portfolio. Print it out for feedback: small groups.

THANK YOU NOTES or at least an email to EVERYONE you have interviewed with! Thank them for thier time and then mention something specific about what they said in the inteview

Interview tips: introduce yourself and I would shake hands. no gum or anyting in your mouth. they will gesture where you are to sit: next to them or accross from them. make SURE your portfolio is facing the person. they will let you know (by body language) if they are going to turn the page or if they expect you to turn them. make eye contact. have energy. be excited (even if you are not completely or you are really tired). make sure you have a couple of questions to ask them.

Print your portfolio out on the Laser Printer. Trim and clip it togethher. ALSO print out the portfolio as thumbnails on one 11 x 17. Consider printing one project on the epson. This is what you will take to the AIGA portfolio workshop. The epson print will give them an idea of the quailty of the printing you will have in your final portfolio. (I will give your portfolio printouts back to you on Thursday with any final comments)

NATIONAL STUDENT SHOW
Sometime in February is the deadline for the National Student Show competition. Figure out how to submit projects (flat files, photo...) AND figure out how to submit your portfolio and an object NATIONAL STUDENT SHOW WEBSITE Winners get money!

DEADLINE JAN 9: Submit projects to the ADDY's -- you will do well in that competition so get it together and submit your projects. Print outs. ADDY WEBSITE

AIGA KC A8: competition deadline will be sometime in April. Consider submitting real projects, brand books, books. You can also submit flat pages. (will talk more about later)

HALLMARK INTERNSHIP: applicaitons to Hallmark for the Summer internship are usually due Feb/March. They want a pdf less than 10MG. No online presences ONLY pdfs are accepted so re-work your portfolio so it works on screen. It means pages not spreads. They click through clickly so it has to be impactful -- quickly. And they don't like anything dark.

There are 3 opportunites for you to meet with professionals and get feeback:
_ AIGA KC Portfolio Day/Lawrence
_ National Student Show/Dallas
_ AIGA Portfolio Day/Wichita.

USe the days to ractice presenting your work and network. USE these days to get feedback. Will send out emails with tips closer to the dates.

The AIGA KC Portfolio workshop you will just need a laser print of your portfolio so that you can get feedback. Keep the pages loose. Bring thumbnails so you can take notes right on the page.

National Student Show. You can have laser prints but would consider printng your portfolio for real on your moab and treat it like an interview and less like a workshop. They will give you critical comments but they will also like to see your portfolio as finished as possible.

SENIOR SHOW
We will have a few meetings about the senior show during the semester.
